History of Our Company
Star University (Formerly known as Star Resources Academy) was established in 2005 May for the young generation who aspire to choose their career in hospitality and tourism industry.
Our University has grown tremendously in the last decade and we have proudly received accreditation from the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism, Myanmar Tourism Federation (MTF) as well as the National Skill Standard Authority (NSSA) for intensive courses in hotel and tourism industry.

Nay Yi Aung
Founder/ Managing Director
Daw Nay Yi Aung, the founder and Managing Director of Star University, leads a hospitality school in Myanmar.
Her background includes roles as an engineer and trainer at various Singaporean firms. In 2005, she established Star University and holds membership in key associations such as the Myanmar Tourism HRD Association, UMFCCI, and contributes to the Hospitality Industry.
Dr. Ohn Mar Ohn
Vice Principal
Professor Ohn Mar Ohn has been a dedicated educator since 1986, bringing over five decades of teaching excellence to her role as a professor. With a wealth of knowledge and a passion for inspiring students, she has shaped countless lives through her commitment to education. Currently, she continues to share her expertise and mentor students as a valued contributor at our college.
Soe Soe Moe
Director of International Relations
Soe Soe Moe boasts over two decades of invaluable experience in the tourism industry, positioning herself as a seasoned professional. Currently dedicating her expertise as an instructor at Star University, she passionately strives to fulfill her overarching goal of imparting her wealth of experience and knowledge in tourism to the next generation.
Moe Moe Khaing
Chief Instructor
Moe Moe Khaing started her career at the age of 18 at the Sedona Hotel Yangon in 1999. Furthermore, she gained international culinary work experience at 5-star hotels in Dubai, U.A.E. She is now one of the oldest members of Star University and provides the best kitchen knowledge to students.

Instructor
Hlaing Tun Oo, an experienced professional in kitchen field. He has worked The British Embassy Club and Coriander Leaf Restropud as Executive Chef. He is now sharing his valuable knowledge and Skill as a culinary instructor at Star University.
Sai Than Hlaing Soe

Wai Phuu Lwin
Instructor
Wai Phuu Lwin, has more than 10 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, which has included 8 years in the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean. She follows the method of “Do what you love, love what you do “.
She is taking a roll as an F&B Instructor by sharing her experiences at Star University.
Min Zin
Instructor
Min Zin has been strongly involved in hospitality since 1996 and is now at the Food & Beverage Department. He spent about six and a half years in Dubai at Emaar Hospitality Group and two years at Luxury Cruise Lines (MSD) Lirica. He is now sharing his valuable knowledge as a bartender and mixologist, as well as a barista instructor at Star University , Yangon
Khin Nyo Nyo Latt
Instructor
Khin Nyo Nyo Latt, began her Hospitality career in Hyatt Hotels Corporation, Grand Hyatt Dubai and Park Hyatt Abu Dhabi for more than one decade in Housekeeping Department. Following that she joined Swisscontact Myanmar, Vocational Skills Development Program (VSDP) from 2018 to 2022 as a Master Instructor. At the moment, she is working as a Housekeeping Instructor at Star University in Yangon.
